Our owner decided she wanted to be an optician when she was 12 and her father was diagnosed with cataracts
Our owner and head optician Parul Shah has wanted to be an optician since she was a little girl. When she was just 12 years of age, Parul’s father was diagnosed with cataracts which meant frequent visits to the optician. It was during these visits that Parul’s interest in optics began to develop.
Parul says: “When my father was diagnosed with cataracts I always went with him to his appointments because I was fascinated by the equipment and technology. I also wanted a career that would allow me to help others, so I studied hard and graduated from Manchester University in 1987.”
Parul acquired our practice in 1998 and completely refurbished the building. She extended our space by a whopping 2000 square feet allowing us to provide two consulting rooms, plenty of room to display our impressive range of spectacles and a dedicated area for clients to wait for their appointment comfortably.
When you visit our practice today you can look forward to a warm and relaxing environment staffed by genuinely friendly individuals. Parul heads our team and is supported by her dispensing opticians Maxence and Parvinder.
Additionally, we regularly train pre-registration opticians – who often don’t want to leave us – who will be more than happy to offer assistance and advice should you wish.
